MLB 2018

The beer incident reminds me of the days when Dodger fans were less than kind to Jack Clark when he roamed right for the Giants. The Dodgers stopped beer sales in the Pavillion. I swear it wasn’t me. Clark got the last word in some years later during the 85 NLCS when he was with the Cards and hit his 9th inning homer off Niedenfeuer at Dodger Stadium. Fans can be so brutal. I was once at an Angels/Yankee game where a Yankees fan became so obnoxious he tried to light the hair of the guy in front of him on fire. Don’t get me started on Raiders fans...

Kershaw: On The Very Short List Of Best pitchers in baseball... 56 pitches with bases loaded with 1 out in the 3rd.

The Braves didn’t do this to him.
Kershaw’s early inning woes have been the elephant in the room for some time now. And as great as he is, he really needs to shake off his playoff jinx. His catcher didn’t help things much last night. I like Grandal, but he faded badly last season to the point where he hardly played in the playoffs.
The Brewers played well and hung on during the nail biter 9th. Congrats. Now for a great game two! GO DODGERS!

What does that mean?

- John

Hey, John!
Sorry...back in my radio daze, we called the li’l bit of music that the guy in the control room would bring up on the air, under the live announcers, to create a sort of audio bridge into a commercial break a “bumper”.
Bumper in...We’re on our way back to the game.
Bumper out...We’re leaving live action for studio-generated commercial material/sponsorship.

I was watching the game with a good friend who is Always noticing such things. He yelled out “Greta Van Fleat”, and I knew exactly what he was referring to.
We both like the band...he beat me to it! ✌❤️⚾

I'm glad the Dodgers won. Not that I'm a fan or jumping on the bandwagon, just because I remember spending the summers in California with my grandma and aunts. They all loved the Dodgers and took me to games.
My one aunt was a receptionist at the police department where her husband, my uncle, was a horse mounted sheriff deputy. He often worked Dodger games on his horse. I remember it being the coolest thing ever going to a game, getting a Dodger Dog, listening to Vin Scully, and seeing my uncle on patrol on his horse.
Ah, the things we remember.

That’s So evocative!
I imagine if I had vivid memories like those, I’d be Bleeding Dodger Blue for life!

That's part of what makes baseball special for some of us. I went to my first game with my father 45 years ago, and still remember a lot of specifics about it (last year, I found the exact game in the records). Near the end of his life, my son and I would visit him each spring in Arizona, and the three generations went together to several games. When he died, he still had those tickets.

Somewhat similar to my Brewers memories as a kid. While we didn't watch much Brewers and didn't go to games, my dad always seemed to have the radio on listening to them in the summer. Camping trips, lounging around the house in summer (dad was a teacher), road trips in the car. And listening to the equally iconic Bob Ueker. Still listening to Ueker on the radio and suspect tonight, I'll have TV on watching the Packers with the sound off, and the radio on listening to the Brewers.

Waiting for Machado to get DRILLED.
I don’t want a genuine injury...I Do expect WHOever is pitching at the time to hit him...not a freakin’ 74mph curveball either.

Craig Counsel just pulled his starter after the 1st batter.
He’ll be ready for game 7.

That is one of the craziest things I have seen in baseball. Even the commentator on Fox was first confused by it.
