MLB 2019

I want to see Washington win the World Series. That's as impossible as the Red Sox or Cubs winning a World Series. If those things can happen, anything can happen. Meaning that the Mariners could win a World Series someday.

As a once upon a time Mets fan, I have to root for the Astros against the Yankees on general principles.

Girardi just interviewed with the Cubs. David Ross interviewed as well and is the fan favorite, but we shall see.

He's a hell of a Skip and did it on the biggest stage for, what, 10 years? I think he just reached a shelf life in NY. Anywhere else he would have still been their guy.

I think nowadays, with all the emphasis on analytics, I think the key to being a good manager is dealing with the players, keeping them motivated and on track. Joe Torre wasn't the greatest in game manager, but he got his team playing their best. Buck always struck me as the opposite.

Yeah the thing I'm reading that's coming out of Philly land is they want a tighter ship. The days of the loosey goosey look to be over in the City of Brotherly Love. That's why I think Joe Madden is all but a name mentioned only. He's too close to what Kap was. Then there is the epic fall.

I think many look at the Dodgers as this generation's Yankees - thowwing money at all their issues. In a time when teams are looking at innovative thinking, the Dodgers are trying to spend their way there. Last year was the biggest example.
It's interesting, and there's truth to it, but to be fair the Dodgers have developed a really really good farm system as well.

Both caught there. Both have roots.

What do you guys think about Hurdle?

Meh. Nothing big to say either way.

ESPN says the Phil's owner fired their manager over the protests of the front office. Seems like a recipe to guarantee they won't get a good manager. Unless someone was desperate, why would they take that slot?
