MLB 2022

All depends on what he wants to get paid. I'm sure they want him, but they got Story to move there if necessary.

It will be interesting to see how the big market teams will react to the threshold limits.

Story has come around for sure. The only thing that bothers me about a possible Bogey trade is that he's the longest running starter we have (other than JD Martinez....but he's DH half the time). The rest of the starting lineup are all relatively new....a few years or less.

I've been a baseball fan all my life so I understand completely that there will be ups and downs through a 162 game season. But these Cards are something else. They have games that they score double digits while looking pretty good defensively. Then games that they lose looking like the Keystone Cops. Yeah they're only a half game behind the Brewers and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they hang on til the end and squeeze out a pennant. But I'm afraid it's going to be an interesting run.

If he is reasonable, the Sox want him - we know that. But they will need to get some pitching.

Just like Betts. They let him go because, no matter how good he was, his piece of the pie he wanted was too big.

My head agrees with you 100%. But I get a little emotional over this game. :D

Silly question. Both 1B and 3B are charging hard, SS is covering third, I assume 2B is covering first. The entire infield is open. You know the Cards were pulling the wheel play. Why the !@$^#@×# were you bunting?
Pull it back and dink one makes more sense. Fake the bunt and swing away.

The Mariners won a series in Houston. They are still 10 games back of Houston, but they (maybe) got a bad streak out of the way early and can claw their way back into it. The pathological optimist is optimistic.

I still love any skip having to defend a pure analytics decision that bit him on the butt. I do agree he made it look far worse calling for the intentional. While Muncy may be cold, he is a professional hitter. Why wind him up?

Fact is, the walk was the right move. Muncy was hitting .150 at the time, just off the IL, and Turner was hitting over .300. Lefty pitcher, Muncy hits lefty, and Turner righty.

Probably better at that point to just pitch around him, but the actual decision was sound.
What is Turner's batting average with a 1-2 count? That's the real measuring stick here.

Live by analytics, die by analytics. I will remain quite happy every time a manger flops on his face acting a slave to them. Both booths, and both benches, all acted like he was nuts. He also said I have no confidence in this pitcher to get one strike. How does that play out the next time he is on the bump?
