MLB 2022

I like pitchers who work fast and I wish they would ease up on balk rules pertaining to quick pitches. That might encourage batters to be in the box and ready before each pitch. Both batters and pitchers need to make efforts to keep the game flowing better.

I remember watching Stroman get called for a balk on a quick pitch a few years back, found the GIF on twitter:

I dunno, IMO Calhoun looked ready to bat, I don't think that should be a balk.

Thanks, "Folks dig the Long Ball" is another pet peeve of mine, but I've used up my time on the old soapbox and I need to feed the chickens and refill the firewood racks on my deck before the storm comes.
I like singles, stolen bases, and smart base running. But then I also enjoy keeping a score card.

I wish I'd seen much of that with the Rockies last season.

I expect the same lack this year, but I'll go to a couple of games. It's one way to get both daughters together with us for a game and beers.

I've been twice, and I'd go again tomorrow if I lived closer!

A GREAT museum!

It is right next door to the American Jazz Museum…which is Just As Wonderful.

Kansas City, MO is one of my favorite cities in the world.

Seriously. :)

I never had the legs, or the wind for basketball, but growing up in N NY, we did have lotsa frozen ponds.
I learned to skate early on, and then I gave my heart to the
NY Rangers!

Things haven't been the same since. ;)
The last lockout/strike pretty well killed my hockey fandom... I just never got back into it. Growing up though, I was a massive hockey fan. I still love going skating and playing shinny, but I don't know if I'll ever get interested in watching the NHL again.

Now the agreement for testing players for steroids has expired. You'd hope players will remain vigilant and honest, and I'm sure many will, but any on the fence about it have no deterrent from MLB to not take steroids now.
I wonder if anyone besides the fans care. I'm guessing no.

I'm sure there are plenty of players who would prefer not to have their testes shrink to the size of raisins.

A friend of mine went there a while back while doing a show out there. He said there's a huge display of signed baseballs in the museum on "perma loan" from none other than Geddy Lee. Hopefully they are still there.
