Sometimes, you gotta take one for the team. Alice too two in one at bat. Impressive.

The Mariners didn't sweep the Phils. I was hoping, but at least they won a series again. If they can get back to stringing together series wins, they will be OK. It sucks that they wasted another great start by Gilbert, but that's just what they do sometimes. The additions have been pretty good so far. I hope their hitting is contagious, not the Mariners' typical inability to hit. Julio and JP will be back fairly soon, I hope. It sounds like Julio will be back in a week or so. JP will take longer but should be back for a stretch run.

And both Houston and Texas had the grace to lose yesterday, too.

The Giants are winining some games now that there main starters are back from Il. Blake has appeared unhittable for his last three games and just pitched a no hitter.
The rookies are starting to hit but will it be enough to get them into the playoffs?
Can the starting pitching keep it up?
Can the Giants back good pitching up with their bats?
Should be an exciting month. It is an uphill battle for the team to win a wild card spot, but it is do-able.

White Sox fired Grifol today. He was obviously the sole reason this team wasn't performing and now - with the ownership and management team (including "Toxic" Tony Larussa) ALL totally intact there's nothing but blue skies ahead for this club! Jerry and Tony 2025, catch the fever!
Someone called it a mercy killing.:smug:
