Unfortunately they still didn't get that first win -- and they lost Profar to an 80-game PED suspension :-/

In happier news, the Jays won last night and improved to 3-2! I am going to savour this moment. They spent most of last season below .500, and while I think they can be a better team this year than they were last year, it is not a guarantee that they won't be last place in the AL East again this summer 😅

What a burn for the Braves. They acquire Profar and he gets suspended for performance enhancing drugs. Just curious. I wonder if in the player's contract is a clause that the team does not have to pay the player during the suspension time if busted for using PED's. Seems to me that a clause like that should be in the contract.
Edit; Just to add to this. I never liked Profar's sportsmanship. During the 2024 post season, Profar was unprofessional by verbally taunting Dodger fans while playing in left field just to cause drama.

I'm wondering if this is why they signed Verdugo - they knew this might be coming.

The Blue Jays swept the Nats this week. 5-2 ain’t a bad start! Tomorrow is a travel day and then they’re in NY on the weekend to play the Mets. Then they go to Boston, then Baltimore. None of those teams are on fire right now but that’s a tough schedule in any case. If they come back to Toronto still hovering around .500 then I’ll be very happy.

Yep re Profar Stewie.

What a game last night, huh? Dodgers looked like little leaguers the first couple of innings. And Snell started a bit off. But another come from behind to be 8-0. The Padres are 7-0. The Giants are 5-1. The D-backs are 4-2. What a start for the West.

The funny thing is the Dodgers are 8-0 while appearing to not play all that consistently well in most of these games. Imagine when they really get hot. They have enough talent to fall backwards into wins when things aren't clicking. Once a few more guys get into rhythm, that's trouble for the rest of the league.

I'm also super happy to see the Padres' start the season on a win streak. Could this finally be the year they put together a really good run? The talent is still there. I'd love to see it.

On the other hand, the AL Central all five teams are all tied with each other at 2-4 (333) average losing streak. My thought is that the Detroit Tigers will break out and win the division in the long term.

The Pirates are screaming out of the gate and have tied their earlier winning streak with last nights victory. Current sitting at only 2.5 games off the pace of the division lead has us screaming ‘World Series”. “The Bucs are going all the way, all the way, the Bucs are going all the way, all the way this year”.

If they were in the AL Central instead of NL, they would be right there in the race! 😂
