I watched a documentary last night on the Cubs connection to Southern California or specifically to their local history on Catalina Island.
Since at the time, Wrigley owned all of the Island, the Cubs would have their spring training in the town of Avalon for 30 years from 1921 to 1951.
Even to this day, many of the local islanders are still fans of the Cubs. I bet must Cub fans have no idea of this history of the Cubs and SoCal.
It could be quite a fun season in the West. The Giants win their home opener 10-9 in 11 innings against the Mariners. Fans at the park got their money's worth on a beautiful San Francisco afternoon.
I like how this team looks. Stay healthy guys.
Yep, the NL west could be a tight race to the end. All teams are above 625, with the exception of those poor Rockies. It could be quite a fun season in the West.
