Oh my gosh the Giants lost yesterday! :) I am a little annoyed with the reporting. Missed the game yesterday and had to dig online to find out what happened. Sure, they recap the games when they win but not much about what happened. Turns out it was last years closer Doval. Logan Webb pitches seven innings of scoreless ball with 10 strikeouts then they bring in Mr. 5.06 ERA and boom the Reds and he walks the first batter and hits the second with a pitch setting up the Reds to score two runs.
Jung Hoo Lee has been playing great in the outfield and at the plate and is generating some serious love from Giants fans.
Great pitching by Hunter Greene of the Reds. The guy throws serious heat and mixes in an awesome slider.

Greene is a super talented pitcher. He probably doesn't get a lot of attention from the rest of the baseball worlds because he's in Cincinnati. Though he did get some down-ballot Cy Young votes last year, which I think he deserved. I hope he can make all his starts this summer and really proves his ability. He's exciting to watch.

Once again, no run support for Webb. Gives me flashbacks of Matt Cain when he had great outings but just didn't get a win because the bats were flat. Oh well, can't win them all, onto the next game!

Yeah. Probably the biggest bargain in baseball. A couple years ago the Reds locked him in for a steal of a deal.

And the Mariners won! They tried to lose. Maybe they should do that more often.

And just like that. The IL issues are already beginning.

Not a big fan of Blake Snell. Sure, he was lights out the for a while but he was a liability for the SFGiants before that. Between his injuries and piss poor pitching in the first half of the season he did more damage than good. I was glad when he left.

Well this is really awful.

Former major league players Octavio Dotel and Tony Blanco were among more than 70 people who died after the roof of an iconic nightclub collapsed in the Dominican Republic early Tuesday, the Dominican National Police confirmed.

Officials said at least 79 people were killed, a number that also included Nelsy Cruz, the governor of the northwestern province of Monte Cristi and sister of seven-time MLB All-Star Nelson Cruz. Another 160 people were injured.

Awful news about that roof collapse 😢

After the Jays were swept out of NY by the Mets over the weekend, I was beginning to worry the rest of their road trip could be a disaster. Then they got their deal done with Vladdy and went on to take two games in Boston. Nice! It's a four-game series against the Sox so they've at least secured a series split. But I'd love to see at least one more W in the next two games. If Toronto has any chance of making it into the postseason, they're going to need to win games against teams like Boston.

I can't believe how good George Springer has been to start the season. I wasn't sure how much he had left in the tank. They moved him down the lineup and he's really responded.

I'm happy with how the Fightin' Phils are doing, and the biggest surprise IMO has been Taijuan Walker, who was a disaster last year. He didn't get through the fifth last night in Atlanta, but he kept them scoreless through 4 2/3, which ain't too shabby. And that's after he pitched six scoreless in his first start of the season. Jesús Lozardo has been better than expected too. Overall, the rotation is in great shape.

So, even though the offense hasn't truly hit its stride--first homer from Trea Turner was last night--they still have a solid 8-3 record. The Mets are tough and the Braves will probably come around at some point, but it's looking good so far.
