You can trash talk the Dodgers all you want, but speak no ill of the Mighty Mariners!
They didn't lose last night. Partly because they didn't play, but we won't get into that.
We’ve always enjoyed attending the games on Jackie Robinson night, especially the nights when Rachel could still attend.
I actually saw him play during Spring training at Miami Stadium. No, I don't remember the year and Miami Stadium is long gone.
Dodgers Spring trained here 1950-58; Orioles from 1959-1990. There was also a minor league Miami Marlins that played there, way before the current Marlins were even a dream.
The land where the stadium was is now the site of an apartment complex.

Jays take two of three from the Braves! The first game, right after Vladdy’s big press conference, was unfortunately a dud. But they came back and won the next two. The team finally socked a few dingers. Vladdy got his first HR on the board today. His swing and timing is starting to look just right

Logan Webb pitches six innings, strikes out 12, no walks, one earned run, one unearned run and he loses 2-0. Will somebody please give this man some run support!

It's frustrating when that happens. No hitting and then the bullpen gave up two runs.
If the Cards would remember what bats are for they could at least make games interesting. As it is they're hard to watch.
This was incredible. I saw a video that showed the win probability shifting with each big play. In an inning and a half, the Cubs went from a 98% chance of winning down to 4% and then back up to 96%
Baseball is a goofy game. All the weird things that happen could only happen in baseball. The Mariners' bats seem to be waking up a little. Not a lot yet. Julio isn't on track yet, though, so I can talk about it without jinxing anything. I hope. That first week was miserable. I sure hope they got that out of their systems and don't do it again. They will, though. We all know it because that's the way baseball works. Every team in the AL West except the Mariners has a run deficit so far this year, no matter what their record is. That a sentence I never thought I would write.
Dodgers got decent pitching and made it out of Texas with two out of three in close games. Heading up to play two more at the Cubs, then heading bad home for a weekend series against the Pirates.
It’s Patriots and marathon day in Boston. My daughter won tickets to the Red Sox game today. There was a meet and greet with Johnny Gomes who let her try on his ‘13 WS ring. Pretty cool.

Ugh! Cards blow it again. Up 3-2 in the bottom of 8 against the Braves with 1 out, there's a bang-bang play at first and the call was Riley out. Braves challenged it and the umps saw something I didn't and it was overturned. Braves go on to hang a 5-spot to go up 7-3. Cards DID fight back in the 9th and put up 3, but then, with a runner on, Arenado squibbed a check swing "hit" that rolled inches in front of the plate and got tagged out standing there.
