It seems to have given them quite the boost. They are actually hitting this year, more or less. Even if Julio isn't yet. I'm struggling to understand how it's possible that the Mariners are scoring so many runs while also giving up so many runs. Can't have everything, I guess. As long as they balance out with more than they give up, all's well.

14-0, I think it ended up, a football score. So yeah! I may try to take him again, but with hearing protection. The noise was really intolerable for him.

I haven't been to a game in years and it sure has changed. Going to a baseball game used to be a pretty relaxing thing. It was sedate, you'd have the organ going occasionally, the crowd would chant once in a while, and of course cheer when something happened, but it was generally pretty genteel. This was wall-to-wall noise, lights, sensory overload and a marketing onslaught. Relaxing it was NOT. It was kind of gross. We had seats in the second balcony on the third base line, great seats all in all, but next time I'm going to get seats in the nosebleeds away from the speakers and away from the crowd. I'm also going to look into tickets for the AAA team. Saints games back in St. Paul were a blast and much more like how things used to be (and Bill Murray, being a part-owner, would show up once in a while). I guess I'm getting old. I'm definitely sick of ubiquitous marketing schemes and NOISE NOISE NOISE.

There's the Rainiers in Tacoma for AAA. There's also the Aquasox in Everett. They are high A and supposedly one of the most talented teams in the minors. That said, they are still single A, which means all kinds of weirdness will happen. I haven't been to a game up there, but want to get to one sometime or another.

It really has changed. I don’t mind a little noise, but the constant bombardment gets to be too much. I bring earplugs now.

I know I've been posting about Wrigley Field a lot, but...it may be the only major league park left where the audio is still mostly the organ and the play-by-play. OK, there is walkup music for each batter, but it's played at a very moderate level. Granted, my last game was in 2019, so things may have changed.

Dodger Stadium was gradually moving toward more “total entertainment” before the pandemic. It became really obnoxious in ‘21.

When the Angels were decent twenty plus years ago, they turned Anaheim into a circus with the rally monkey shtick and blaring music. So I blame the Angels for starting the trend.

I get it to a degree. It’s about getting younger crowds going to games to keep the sport popular.

Well, here we go again. It’s looking like Glasnow may be heading to the IL. “Shoulder discomfort.” Jeez.

So what is it? Some believe the pitch clock is contributing to injuries with arms not getting enough recovery between pitches. Maybe that’s part of it.

Methinks The Rays coaching staff may have 'known' about Snell and Glasnow's fragility B4 they sent them 'out west'.

The A’s are like 16-14. I do not understand how the Rockies can be so bad. Even the White Sox are better at 7-21.

I'm watching A's games here and they are doing well despite their owner throwing them in front of them every imaginable block to their success.

The Rockies? I have no idea how they trip on the same set of steps every season.

It's absolutely mind boggling to me how much ownership really doesn't care about that organization FOR YEARS now. I've been to Denver several times for games there in the summer. The location in that district is absolutely prefect for raking in the money with baseball fans with all the restaurants and bars. The ballpark is actually really nice and could probably be even better with a few upgraded renovations. I completely agree it is just unbelievably sad to see what potential it all has but the powers that be just don't give a flying....

What’s really dumb, is the Colorado sports fan base is healthy. Just put a half decent team out there that can make a few playoff games every other year, and they’ll buy shirts and show up
