As one of the radio guys said this AM, the Rockies are printing money. They sell the ballpark experience, not the team. The owner is stuck on working with his internal staff and buddies, and although he spends money, his imports (like Kris Bryant) have been abject failures. Bryant is on one of the biggest contracts in Rockies history, but he's constantly hurt because his back has given out; a sneeze is enough to put him out for weeks. He's currently batting about .154. That's typical of the players they bring in.
But the ball park is right in downtown Denver, the line of sight goes straight to the mountains, and a sunny afternoon lazing around the ballpark is a fun experience if you don't care about winning. People go by the thousands. At this point if I go to a game I'll be disappointed if they don't find a way to lose!

Tigers, Reds, Cubs, three of my 6 favorite teams doing ok.
Phillies, Orioles, Pirates, not so much.

The wife and I have always wanted to go to Coors Field to check out a game. It looks so beautiful. Kris Bryant was a Giant for one season and then split for the Rockies. I was disappointed when he left but the Giants dodged a bullet on that one for sure.
It's well worth going! The ball park is really nice, there's tons of stuff to see, there's a party deck on top (standing only) and it's in a great section of town for restaurants and entertainment. They even built around it with attractions. Just expect the team to wilt in the last three innings (if not earlier) and give up any lead they might have.
Well, the Dodgers finished April on a positive note with a three game sweep of the Marlins. Finished 21-10 and are finally back in first in the West. Only the Mets have a (slightly) better record. Gonsolin had a decent start coming off the IL and got the win. Kike provided a little help in relief. So it’s on to the ATL for the weekend and a brutal 10 game stretch with no break beginning Friday.
There is a lot that can happen. Been there too many times and too many folds to think that way, especially early. But seeing Smith and Pages come alive has been fun. And Outman is killing it at AAA Oklahoma City. This is really shaping up to be a fun season.
I love seeing the Tigers and Cubs competitive.

In much worse news a fan fell off the Clemente wall 21 feet to the ground. I don't want to link the video here but it's the top youtube search involving PNC right now. It's a very short clip from a long way away so it's not gory but he was pretty badly hurt. Looks like he jumped or was pushed?
My dad lived in Denver for many years and I completely agree. It's a great place to see a game. Also, as noted above, Denver is a really good sports town, people show up and get loud. We used to catch the shuttle bus from Zang's Brewery (now closed) for Nuggets games.
Just saw that video clip and yeah wow. I can't tell whether he intentionally pulled himself forward and fell or was getting up to cheer or something and forward momentum got him and over he went. It's a really strange scene but that looked horrific.

Witnesses sitting nearby are saying he was highly intoxicated; in the sixth inning he took his shirt off and poured beer all over himself and said he wanted to get on the field. With that said, it's likely he was holding on to the railing and when he jumped up to celebrate McCutchen's two-rbi double he accidentally flipped over the railing and fell. Last I heard he was in critical condition with a skull fracture.
As a Mariners fan, I will just clam it and say nothing. I don't want to jinx anything. Superstition is part of the fun of baseball.
