I bought this one about a month ago, but really didn't like it that much. The guitarist tried to do a buncha technical solos and riffs, but he really isn't up to it. Their first album is better.

I've got to give a +1 to Protest the Hero - Fortress
I've listended to that album an insane number of times this year! I'd never cared for screamy vocals but there's a nice mix!

It was voted #2 album of last year by Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater!

I was hoping someone would mention Din Within - if you like the Spock's Beard/Transatlantic/Genesis/Floyd kind of vibe, there's plenty of that mixed in...

Awesome man..would love for you to have it!

Really appreciate your time to give it a listen!

Hope anyone else reading this thread enjoys it!

  8. I think it's great to see albums from TalkBass members here!! Maybe we should create a topic about "prog albums from TalkBass"?

Anyway, mine is available sinde March 7th, it's not really modern and more of a "crossover prog" but maybe you can like it:
    The Field Where She Died

    Available here:

  9. Another shameless plug...

Here are a couple of tunes out of 6 we recorded so the drummer could have a bonified CD with his name on it. It isn't the final mix but our sound magician had a stroke this week and the drummer decided on a deadline (***?) so this is pretty close:

Not sure if Ozric Tentacles has been mentioned, but I just picked up "The Floor's Too Far Away" and I'm really digging it!

one of my all-time favorite bands.

I don't have that one, but I have almost all the others. Pick up Spirals in Hyperspace and Waterfall Cities if you haven't already, those are my favorites.

    I think I'll get them all...eventually.

Just got Waterfall Cities, and while it's good. I think I like Strangetude more.
  15. Crap, Rhapsody removed Fromuz. I guess I was the only one listening to them. Sad.

Great sound, sometimes it misses some vocals, but not that much.
