While the 90s Tbass was/is an awesome bass.

The wooden necks don't guve you the same tone as the carbon ones.
Its unreal the tone I can get from my B2... And since its a bolt on its a fair comparison to my other bolt ons... My sandberg being the closest in quality.

That attack and general tone jump isn't just the status EQ it has to be the carbon neck and phenolic board.

Modulus Quantums are my go to basses… I've been through lots of other brands, and still enjoy them..
But Modulus just brings a presence, clarity & punch, that is superb. They cut through so well, no mud.. Here's my 1995 5 knob Quantum 5, & my recently acquired 2002 Quantum 5- both have 18v bart pre's, the 95 has quad coils, & the 2002 has the classic Barts. Just simply spectacular tone! Sound guys and other bassists always comment on how great Modulus sounds…

You hit it right on the head some bass players don't like the graphite neck but me personally I love it

Maybe maybe not but if u have to come out of pocket for one of these basses they damn well better try because these basses aren't cheap a Q5 will cost you damn near 6000 so i think if u work with them they should be able to work with u.. for example my Q5 came with EMG pickups and at the time my understanding was they wouldn't change the pickups out thank God I'm an Endorsee and The AR person at the time was Jan McNaul so she took my bass back and put what I wanted in it but once again who knows what they're doing now. That was years ago

Assume you meant $6k for a new Q5. There are plenty of Q5's available on the used market, and they usually sell for $3K to $4K. Not cheap, but much less than many "boutique" or low-production basses.

Lol yes I was talking about new especially if you want a lot of custom stuff done to it but yes you are absolutely right u can definitely find a good used one for 2 to 4 grand easy

I have several from very early to 1994 and a couple G.Goulds. All very different feel, playability, look and damn I love me my Modulus. My current favorite to play is my 1986 Modulus Q5 Neck Thru Fretless! So much fun to play. Bought my first Genesis 4 in 2000 and have played Modulus ever since

That what's up I've been playing on Modulus basses since 97 and I wouldn't trade them for anything else

Thank you! The black FU5 was my first. Bought it used back in 2009 or so. I traded a Mesa MPulse 600 and some cash for it. Don't regret it one bit. That thing has incredible bite and sizzle if you want to dial it in. Not sure what the pickup is as it doesn't have a label on it. Can't imagine I'll ever let any one of these go.
