Modulus Mob

Hey Mobsters. I'm thinking of putting a Hipshot xtender on my VJ. Is the GB7 the right model? I may change the rest to ultralites to reduce added weight. I don't have the bass with me and I can't remember the hole diameter. I recall someone stating that a GB7 alignment screw didn't line up. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks in advance!

I have a question for the Modulus brain trust here - I've got a guy offering me a '94 Q5 for $500, what I should be looking out for when I check it out, and how do I evaluate the state of the neck?

Backstory is complicated, but it's a legit deal - the guy is a guitarist, doesn't play bass, and wants this thing out of his way. I went over the bass very quickly a few nights ago, it's pretty beat up, but didn't seem terrible. A lot of scratches on the body and few nicks through the coating on the neck, but the neck seemed straight - flat on the G side, slight concave bow on the B side. Setup was terrible - v. high action - but the bridge saddles were all up as high as they could go, so I figure I might be able to get it back in line. I'm going back to check it out more thoroughly at the weekend to give it a quick setup and see how it plays after that.

Cosmetic condition doesn't bother me, my main concern right now is with the neck. I'm not too familiar with graphite necks sans truss rod, so I'm not sure how to think about it, e.g. how much neck bow is ok (if any), how string choice affects things, how low I should be able to get the action, relief etc.

So... is this a potential steal on a solid bass, or a lemon to be avoided? Would welcome your thoughts - thanks!

Buy that sucker of give up your source so I can :D. Mine was a train wreck and I paid $500 for it with no truss rod. I have a great luthier that put it right for $250. All in $750 + a new set of strings and it is my main bass for the last 6 years. A Modulus for $500 is worth buying just about 100%.
