Quiet on my part because the app is no longer supported.that said.....I need a VJ!!!!
There's a white passive VJ on eBay at the moment...
My VJ has the Chechen board. No fret dots either. The cool thing about mine is there are streaks of super light and dark colors through it.
Did you see the red Vertex on the 'bay (not mine). While I HATE the "new other" condition option, $1200 shipped isn't bad... There was a black one yesterday as well but someone must've grabbed it.
Wasn't me. just never warmed up to the Vertex. I mean I am big into the ugly basses and guitars, but just don't like the Vertex
A few years ago on TB, I made a typical (by my standards) smart ass comment on the design and look of the bass on a Modulus thread that was discussing the Vertex; I really dislike the look of that model. The next day I got a PM from Joe P. asking why I didn't like the Vertex, what suggestions I had and then he explained his rationale for the concept. (In hindsight now, I think it could have the the company's "Jump the Shark" moment looking back). I was taken to task by Joe in a polite, professional fashion and I replied truthfully to him that I thought the bass looked "cheap" and to me, not up to Modulus' standards, in my view. He returned another message thanking me for my honest feedback and, while I felt slightly embarrassed for my initial wiseass comment, I was impressed that the man behind the scene was that tuned in to the audience. I hope that Joe is behind the resurgence. Now, off to noodle on my Q5 Sienna!

I heard it was Joe P behind the resurgence. Also, did not mean to be flippant about my comment. That's why I said I never warmed up to the design. However, since I have never played one, I cannot comment on it for anything other than looks. I am all for anything that brings Modulus back to our midst!!
Does anyone know if the Vertex neck is the same as a Flea\Funk Unlimited?

This really is exciting, waiting for the company to rise again! Now that our winter is kicking in in New England, I love grabbing one of my Moddys and marveling at the ridiculously low action while the temperature drops to the teens and the neck hasn't moved a hair. Delicious!

I've decided to get back into the swing of things and play more starting this year, was playing my Q5 for 2 hours last night.
My hands are way out of shape, but still fun. My Q5 has held it's set up very well, which is really helpful.

There's 2 fretless ones on the 'bay and Planet Bass has a Buckeye one as well- no idea on the price - it is a little heavier than your weight limit though.

Speaking of Planet Bass, they have 2 of the "bass boat" sparkle fade finish FU4's and a "Sadowsky '59 Burst" looking VJ4 with 14 serial #'s. The 15's should be coming soon! Looks like JP is doing some good work.

Thank you so much for the info. I actually love that buckeye one but they want $4850 for it. Just too steep for me
