So last night I was jamming with a guy for a potential new band (went pretty well, as out of practice as I am), but I tried to use his headstock mounted tuner on my Q5, but got nothing- no idea on the brand and I've never used one before so it could have been user error, although watching him, he just clipped it on his axe and played. Anyone else encounter this?

For the record, I had my Sonic Research ST-200 in my gig bag- always be prepared!

Snark works like a charm on my FU5 - tracks well to 12th fret harmonic especially.

Does anyone know if this will fit a standard fender body?

It was made for a standard Fender Body. Bassstar was designed as a replacement neck for Fender hence the headstock design of most Bassstar's.

cant get the frickin stacked pot off my mod....it uses a hex key that seems to be tinier than one used to adjust bridge saddles

anyone know?

Yes it is smaller. I think I used a metric, but can't confirm that. They are tiny

Hey all! I have a beautiful 1995 Q5 I got from a TBer last month, I was hoping to get some help on figuring out what the tone knobs specifically do. Total noob here on these controls, I'm coming from a Jazz Bass!

I'm going for a bassier/reggae tone, I'm already favoring the neck pickup that is giving me a lot of bass and super impressed with how it's sounding. But I'm not too sure what the stacked knobs do. I seem to be losing a bit of volume on the D and G strings as I have it right now, which is just flat.

Now that is a beauty!! I believe they are Volume/Blend/High-Mid stack/ Mid-Bass Stack.. But I would bet someone who has this same setup of EMG's would chime in. Probably a BQS system, but that second stacked pot is a mystery of sorts..Invalid Link Removed

I can't see the photo posted of your bass, but if it's an EMG system, one stacked pot is bass and treble boost/cut, the other stack is for mids - lower knob is frequency select, top is boost/cut.
