That IS good to know:)! My quantum has some pretty heavy fretwear and I had no idea who to take it to, cause everyone in madison seems too shy about the materials to want to try doing a job on it. It's still just fine for now, doesn't effect sound or playability, but it's good to know there's a place to get it done in the future. Only 2 hours away from me, no less. I will holler at you, iriegnome, if I need it done at any point in the future.

It's kind of sad how Madison is basically bereft of luthiers of any kind. There might be a couple that specialize in wooden instruments but that's about it.

I have both phenolic and wood boards. He completely restored my Bassstar that had the frets pulled out of the phenolic board with what looked like a flat blade screwdriver!! It was particuluarly ugly.. Please feel free to PM me for his number. He already knows if anyone calls him about a Mod, I sent you to him. I am in between Milwaukee, WI and Chicago, IL.. I think I am about the only person who has Mod's in this area. Ballin, I will be in Menasha on Friday if you want to check out my luthiers latest work. Full refret on my Q5, but it has the rosewood board, full fret job and electronics repair.

Irie, im not far from McHenry county!

I also have Phenolic (M92) and Rosewood (TBX)

The TBX may need a full refret instead of a dressing (although it still plays incredibly well with A TON of fretwear. Even the rosewood board has some string wear. Whoever owned this TBX, played it hard!

That being said, I just swapped out all the hardware from Gold to black and it looks amazing.

Iriegnome- thanks for the offer, sadly this weekend is all booked. Keep me posted though- I'd like to check your band out sometimes and put a face to a screen name (even though if you google "Modulus genesis images" you pop up, so I know what you look like ;-) )

Also, not Modulus related, but weren't you looking for a SWR Goliath Sr 6x10? There's one on the 'bay in Janesville...

Thanks for that. I needed a laugh!! Anyway, I talked to the guy in Janesville. A bit pricey and he isn't willing to budge on the price yet, so I will wait on it. I am actually thinking about a custom designed LDS cabinet. Something without so much high end screech as the SWR cab's but can handle the Modulus'..
