Modulus Mob

Yea I've basically been hearing that the only way to even try getting them is through planet bass. Which evidentally, they will be carrying them with the modulus snowflake logo in the hologram:hyper:. At around $250 apiece, it's a big chunk to spend on a set for a quantum. I really want them though. I'll probably cave in and do it eventually.

Okay, so now it's months later, and thanks to everyone's advice, I have the Bassstar neck on a new body and the old body safely tucked away in a closet (no idea what to do with it at the moment).

Pic is below; full story is here:http://www.talkbass.com/threads/nbd-–-modulus-g-l-mf-luthierie-content.1178884/

In experimenting, I did put the Modulus neck on the body of my 1980 Precision fretless. It sounded good with the passive Nordstrand precision pickup, but sounds amazing with the G&L. To my ears, anyway.

Thanks for the replies. Upon reflection, I'm thinking of taking everyone's advice and just getting a whole new body. I'll get the colour I want, a cutaway to hit the top frets more easily (not that I do that very much) and even drop in new pickups and everything. I'm thinking Alder for a sort of standard P-bass on 'roids tone that can go from super aggressive rock to dub.

So: does anyone have experience with the Modulus necks and:

a) a traditional passive alnico P-bass pickup or
b) G&L's MFD designs? (either P or soapbar)

I'm thinking I'll go passive since I use effects so much often. The bassstar sounds great with modulation and overdrive but the EMGs don't seem to play well with any kind of envelope filtering.
