Modulus Mob

Yup, black would be optimal, but chrome is not at all a bad look
on that one either. Least until you can decide on a proper ABM
or whatever bridge and tuners. Mine did many gigs with gold
hardware till I got the wild hair and ordered black including the
input plate from Modulus, which was still around at the time.
Definitely a keeper- treat it with TLC.

all black everything but bridge is on the way currently. Will order the bridge later on. I am getting married this weekend so won't have alot of time to play with her! buttt she can wait!

Congrats. You have a lot to be grateful for. My wife's purchased three expensive basses to date for me. That's why she gets ANYTHING she wants. Saturday was our 12yr anniversary.
Extend that TLC to her as well. A good woman is priceless.

Also just curious I didnt even know there was a 34" scale option on a modulus! has anyone played both? is the 34" scale easier on your hands? is the B the same? I know they are much harder to find so I am curious as to anyones experience with one

I know they have a 34” scale option on the new Q5’s, not sure about anything older. The Flea Bass/Funk Unlimited 5 strings are 34” and the B is very, very good. Not quite as tight as a Q5, but nothing to complain about.

Just changed the strings to quantums. WOW. Great tone. The b is a but quieter than the rest raised
The pickup a bit and it helped any other advice?

If you're coming from round-wound, or ground-rounds, then the thickest string in your set (E on a 4, B on a 5/6) is going to seem quieter. When you move to flats, there's simply more material to push around than with round-wound strings. In other words, you need to add some extra "oomph" (technical term) to get that thick, flat-wound string vibrating.

When I first move to flats after 20 years of Roto-sounds, it was shocking how different the E string was. Took a few weeks to get the compensation factor into my fingers. Now I don't even think about it (but I do notice it for the first little bit if a take a long time off of flat-wounds)

I am interested in your Modulus + Chromes experiment, so if you are so inclined, please post up any videos, SoundClouds, or even just a player's viewpoint.
