I wonder what the top selling Modulus model is? I'd like to see a pie chart of of what model TB users have in their home. I've only had one model (which is my current & only bass) which is a 1997 VJ w/ Chechen fingerboard & active EMG's & love it (I've only owned it 2+ yrs so far). In the 90's I used to want a Quantum & Flea bass. I had two Zon Sonus basses which I only got rid of at the time because I lost my job & it was either keep the Zon's or pay rent so....(that was in the 90's).
So I'd have to guess the Vertex & VJ is probably the least popular models but who knows?

Nah. I would assume the Quantum 5. Kind of been the standard bass for Modulus since the 1980's. Of course, when you start breaking down the sub models, SS, M-92, SPi and on and on, no real idea.
Agreed. I don’t think the precursor to the Flea/FU (the sonic hammer) was a big seller for them. But who knows? The VJ has been around for a long time, they’re pretty rare for resale though, whereas Q5’s are usually available (if overpriced 
).

Agreed. The Quantum 5/ 6 seems to be the gold standard and most commonly seen onstage used by both pro's and cover bands.
Don’t underestimate the influence of Flea on a global scale. I could be totally wrong though

Yes. You can contact Planet Bass. Tony owns Planet Bass and Modulus Graphite. It’ll probably cost 6-7k. One of the original luthiers from Modulus is the current builder of the new basses.

I've had a Modulus VJ 4 since 1998. I play 5's almost exclusively on gigs now and curious if there are any 34" Modulus basses out there?
I'm assuming no but thought I'd ask, my Pedulla neck went dead flat last summer in high humidity during a gig weekend where I had no tools to adjust it and it's got me wishing for a Modulus 5!

The Flea/Funk Unlimited 5 is 34”, there are some Quantum 5’s that are (ones with 26 frets), and the new jazz style 5 strings are as well.

Hello, Modulus crew. Apologies in advance if this has already been covered here, but I didn't find anything by searching. Has anyone out there had an opportunity to own/play both an older (pre-2013 or even pre-truss rod) Modulus Q5 and new generation (post-Planet Bass reboot) Q5 and compared the quality, fit & finish, tone, etc.? I ask because I'm considering re-entering the 5-string world, and a Q5 would be my first choice. I'm inclined to order from Planet Bass so I get exactly what I want, including 34" scale and EMGs, but would be curious to hear if there are any significant differences between older and newer Q5s, as I've only played the former. Any feedback would be appreciated!
