My theory is that it's not a Fender, but someone threw a Fender decal on the headstock. Shouldn't the "contour body" logo be closer to the end of the headstock?

I don't know that Fender has ever used a fingerboard like that (the fret lines are pretty fat...and might that be purple heart?). The body just looks like it has come from a kit bass. Though I guess it's nice to be able to take a salad bowl with you to the gig, and put it back on the bass when done eating.

I'd guess that the only things worth anything on that instrument is the Badass bridge and the Schaller tuners. It's pretty ambitious to want $400 for that bass.

My guess it's just an attempt at an ergonomic fix to hold the bass in the preferred position against the belly - doesn't look terribly comfortably to me.

You guys have to brush up on your Fender history.

That was available in the 80's. It was their reverse bass resonator so, you could feel the bass in your gut. Didn't do very well for them, was only on the market for a day. So, it's RARE!

Ok I got through the fully underscored hard to read description and it says somewhere in there that it sounds good plugged in.

Yeah ok, no output jack visible in pictures. Anyone see how it gets plugged in?

Maybe the bowl is a pedal board and there a DI in there.
