Morbidly obese Jazz bass

I have the same thing except it's my belly that holds the bass in the preferred position. I feel that works better and is more modular for when I have to play different basses.
Yeah, me too, any more. Perhaps this bass was intended for really skinny bassists with no gut? :D

I would think that for whatever reason it worked for the previous owner. Maybe it made it easier to play if you were wheelchair bound or something. It definitely strikes me as an alteration that was made for one specific player though, so it is what it is. I wouldn't pay a quarter of the asking price either

Hmmmm. It'd be the first time the right tools for making a "fixer upper" bass usable would be a big hammer and chisel. Anything obviously wrong with it otherwise? Maybe he should advertise as a stock Fender with a free bonus salad bowl. :)

It's a weapon in disguise. The guy lived in a bad part of town and he keeps that one handy while he is playing the real one in case someone comes in while he is playing. That thing could do some real damage....
Hmmm, fair point, kinda like the Iroquois war club, but a stock T-40 would have been a much more cost-effective solution! :D

maybe the original owner?
