MORTRIX MIDI foot controller

This fits. That piece looks super interesting.
I can overcome the ridiculous power requirements (make it 9V and 2.1mm center negative so it's pedalboard friendly, but make it consume a full ampere, so none of the established PSUs can drive it from a single outlet *evil laughter, thunder and lightning in the background*).

I can see the advantage of having that display, even though I prefer the look of non touchscreen controllers. The Morningstar MC-8 I use has super nice software that lets me program it from any computer with access to the internet, which is super nice, but it requires being connected to a computer, which is a bit off putting. Getting that right in the unit is much nicer. Especially when you test drive your settings and find that you forgot one parameter in one scene.

I use a One-Spot to power it at the moment.

I also have an MC8 (though may let it go - I’m beta testing the MC6 Pro and think it’ll cover what I’m doing with the bigger unit now, once it launches).

Will programming be available on the device exclusively or will there also be a PC editor for programming, backup, sharing, etc.?
There’ll be backup capability via USB. No plans for an external editor as yet. The whole ethos of this is that everything is on the device itself.

Now that's a curious word. UKism? I like it.

This is where I learnt it. Not much more British than Monty Python.

If programming the MIDIUM is a doddle, I'll be very happy. I'm a MIDIot. Mainly my own fault, I get caught up in just making presets and scenes, I haven't taken the time to learn how to make it function more smoothly and really get the most out of it. I like in the thumbnails the array of pedals loaded in there, and that it is set up for Source Audio, too. When I saw @Quatschmacher had a thread and it was the project he's alluded to, the SA thing made more sense. Because that would take not only time but also deep knowledge of those pedals. Will definitely be keeping track of this wonderful new toy.

There is a bit of a bottleneck, sadly. I identified a bunch of MIDI implementation errors in the SA C4 and Spectrum in 2020/2021 and as far as I know, these bugs haven’t been fixed yet because Jesse has not been able to get enough time away from other SA projects to do it. And since deeper MIDI implementation is lower down the list of priorities, given they have their own dedicated apps and editors, it’s not had a look-in. I’m hoping he’ll be able to at some point, and if I’m able to help out to get it done (like data entry) then I’m happy to.

I thought the point of the Morningstar App was that you can program the device without being connected to a computer. Granted, not an all in one solution, but pretty convenient. I’d rather stand with my phone than bend down to the floor trying to change a parameter.

Website now has videos embedded showing some of the UI. Take a look.
Wow this really looks amazing! The simplicity is very attractive. I think it would be cool to add some sound to those videos. Intrigued.
Love the variety of connections on the back of the unit and the recessed design in the back is a killer idea. Sweet!

@Quatschmacher I know you don't have a price as yet, but do you have a ballpark? $100, $500, $1000 any clue?
I think he said he didn't know and didn't have any control / input.

Based on similar products I would have to think, of the options you listed, it would be somewhere between $500 and $1000. $100 is way too cheap, anything with a screen like this is going to be several $100s at a minimum IMO. But over $1k would be getting up there with more expensive actual FX units like more expensive Line6 units or the Quad Cortex. Not impossible, I just think it would be quite market limited at that point.

We do, but it doesn’t make sense to publish it if we end up being able to get it much lower. My colleague has been crunching the numbers and should have something firm soon. (Stuff is much more complex since stupid Brexit.) Pretty sure he’ll have a firm figure by the show on the 8th. Patience, my friend.

All good points, I just cast a wide net to illustrate that I wasn't expecting a definitive answer. Touchscreen and all definitely puts it above something like a plain midi controller, but in this day and age I have no idea how to assume price points any more.
