Most aggressive bass tone?

Who do you think has the most aggressive bass tone. I am talking about during a song, not for solo's.


Personally, I think that Joey DeMaio of Manowar has the most aggressive tone I have ever heard.

I've always liked the first 8 bass notes at the beginning of Running With The Devil - Van Halen, it's got a bit of kick to it.

i've always liked lemmy's tone.

Rob Trujillo's tone on the song Violent and Funky by infectious grooves is pretty agressive.

Justin Chancellors sound on Jambi also rocks pretty hard.

Henkka Blacksmith of Children of Bodom has a hella mean sonding tone, check out the intro to the song 'Warheart', it kicks some ass.

Juan Alderete also has a great tone on Day of the Baphomets, especially when he picks up speed during the intro.

I also like Lemmy's sound.

I don't know about most aggressive, but my favorite aggressive tones are the aforementioned Wetton and Billy Gould.

Glad you dig. Until recently, they were a trio consisting of Bass, Drums and Violin. The newer album, the violist was replaced with a baritone guitarist. Not sure why, I love both versions of the band.

Billy sheehan's tone with Niacin. If listen to the intro of a mr. big song called "Jane Doe", now there is a great tone!

Jason Newsted has prety agressive tone in Metallica`s version of Crash Course In Brain Surgery.. (and you can hear it clearly.. )

All so in Cunning Stunts he has really kick ass tone.

Mel Schacher. Much of the music was very aggressive, and Mel was left to contribute a great deal of the sound stage, since the guitarist was, shall we say, under-developed.
