Most aggressive bass tone?

John Wetton's tone during his stint with the '70s incarnation of King Crimson. Brutal tone.

Paul D'amour with Tool.

Took the words completely out of my mouth!

John Wetton and Paul D'Amour had some of the most brutal bass tones on planet earth - John Wetton had the original, and D'amour's nastiness on Undertow can't be beat...

Wetton, on the "Red" Crimson album:

"Starless", starting at the 4:20 mark to the end.

- what I affectionately call the "Angry God" tone.

I totally forgot Juan Alderete on the Mars Volta album "Frances the Mute" - very Wetton-ish bass tones in certain parts of that album, all on a fretless Precision to boot.

I've heard Lemmy, and although his Ric always sounds pretty aggressive, it sounds too distorted(to me), and doesn't have as much of that raw chunk that Wetton and D'amour have in their tones:)

I actually find Timmy c's playing/tone quite melodic & a touch of funky, with only subtle undertones of raping & pillaging- sure its aggressive, but not like D'amour or Lemmy, sometimes there playing makes me feel like I should hide the woman and children.
