Most artistic bass i've seen - wow

Was about to post this myself.


I'd love to play one to see what they sound like, truthfully quite a bit out of my price range even for styles of bass I know I'd probably enjoy. The designs are definitely eye catchers. But it's a bass guitar, I wouldn't want to hang it on my wall I'd want to play it, and it'd still need to sound good.

*shrug* I love the look, and that someone's doing something unique with instruments. Googling for prices however, I'll just be looking.

The steampunk aesthetic often just piles random junk wherever it will fit, but everything here seems purposeful and well judged.

I'm kind of partial to the Tony Cochran designs in the steam punk vein. Seem more "authentic," not that I'd ever buy or play one.

Those look great too, but he apparently leaves the necks "un-steamed"? As an art piece, a bit anticlimactic. Finish the job, Tony. (not that I'm ever gonna be a customer )

I think they did a very nice job! I've done quite a few Steampunk guitars and basses. It's fun, and I try to keep them totally playable, too.

This wont be for everybody - but wow. The time involved for these must be incredibly long - wonder if anyone on here has purchased one of their previous models - very cool builds. IMO

Its cool, but i wont play it! I love modding my basses, but i think thats too much, form follows function,& it looks like mostly nonfunctional parts & pieces. my old friends used to joke about cars that had a lot of add on parts "looks like you walked through the accesssories aisle of pepboys with a magnet!" I guess thats my main criticism with the Steam Punk aesthetic, when in doubt just add more brass gears!& screws, but when done well they rock! I wouldnt rock this one, i'd rather play a pointy BC rich bass! you do you
