Most Disturbing Films.

I spend time on Internet Movie Data Base, and occasionally run into topics like this. Wondering which films TB'ers would list.

I'm not necessarily talking about gore/horror (even though I'm a bit of a fan). More stuff that "messed you up" a little and stuck with you for a while after you watched it.

I'll get the ball rolling:

Eraserhead.

Definately Full Metal Jacket. I made the mistake of pulling a few blunt rips beforehand. All I can say is I have never been that uncomfortable, and I dare say suicidal, like I was then.

+1 on Seven. I'm a huge fan of movies with those type of catastrophic, suprise endings. Also, Arlington Road is good like that.

Is it possible to actually make sense of the book?

Yeah. I'd say more so than the movie, but a lot is definitely left up to interpretation. A lot of it is about the burden of guilt associated with addiction and homosexual tendencies which manifests itself into these physical monsters. Or at least that's what I think. I could be wrong.
