What's so good about 50's,60's Fender basses?
 
I think the ones that annoy me the most - and seem to me to generate a heck of a lot of heat - are two that are, in the end, a matter of personal choice, and are cases where there IS no right answer, and no matter how much you argue, you ain't gonna change the minds of those on the other side. There are two that I hate seeing come up, and they come up very frequently:
1) 4 vs 5 strings
2) Originals vs. covers
