Any thread w/*I don't get* in the title. I don't get those. WHO CARES WHAT YOU(or I)DON'T GET?
God, this is so true! And may I add to it the always annoying, often amusing and rarely original "Am I the only..." threads.
Talk about the fight heard 'round the world! In the end I think all none participants would lose... we'd all be long dead before the fight was over. Killed by it's epicness
Things get, err...spirited (shall we say) over in the 'Is it a good idea to stuff a GK cab?' thread at times.
TB'ers seem to get riled up over these subjects (IMO):
- Reading music versus playing by ear
- Speaker diameter versus frequency response
- Tubes versus solid state
It's got to be what THE BEST BASS FOR METAL IS!!! We're still searching and, although many have been mentioned, which one is really THE BEST?

I'd say Lord Paul's intervention will save the day for mankind.
I think the ones that annoy me the most - and seem to me to generate a heck of a lot of heat - are two that are, in the end, a matter of personal choice, and are cases where there IS no right answer, and no matter how much you argue, you ain't gonna change the minds of those on the other side. There are two that I hate seeing come up, and they come up very frequently:
1) 4 vs 5 strings
2) Originals vs. covers
1) 4 vs 5 strings
2) Originals vs. covers
Yeah, I unwittingly started Bassman vs Soundman war
with an innocent little thread about "amp tone unimportant when using DI."
Seems, every bassist is a selfish bastard-- ignorant of the in house acoustics, and every sound man is a stupid monkey trying to take away "my tone."
