Damon, you're going to love it here. St Louis is just a giant small town. If you love Jazz, we have a whole area dedicated to it. Look up Jazz at the Bistro. If you love Blues, you also came to the right place. We have the National Blues Museum. Hopefully you like baseball and hockey, if not you will soon be a Cardinals and Blues fan. I think Pappy's is what everyone talks about for barbecue and as far as alcohol is concerned, we are loaded with microbreweries and surrounded by wineries. Don't trust me on either of those because I'm a vegetarian and don't drink; hopefully, we can still be friends.
Here is some history for you though. Jimmy Blanton joined the Duke Ellington band here in St Louis. Arvell Shaw, Wendell Marshall, Walter Page, Singleton Palmer, Gus Thornton are all from St Louis or spent some time here. Clark Terry, Miles Davis, and Chuck Berry are from here, too. There are many others that are from here that you know and not just related to music. If you want to know more of our jazz history look up Dennis Owsley.
Take care and hope to run into you at some clubs
Ryan
