MTD - Michael Tobias Design Basses

My own experience with mr Tobias is nothing different. I called up Ken Lawrence to ask him what sort of strings he had on his personal Brase that I got off him (the first Ken Lwrence brase ever) because the replacement strings (two different sets in a row, different brands) were not as perfect sounding as the ones originally on the bass (full and bright at the same time). Ken replies that the strings were MTD strings. I really wanted to use the Brase in a project so I call up MTD to place an order for strings. And guess who picked up the phone: Mr Michael Tobias... He spend a good 30min on the phone just answering my questions over the strings and my quest for the perfect bass tone. (I forgot to mention that the day was 24th Dec!!!!!; he is a passionate man and very knowledgeable man). Over that call I place an order for a custom 535 which he personally delivered to the Frankfurt show end of March. That bass was all I asked him for and much more. Only great words for Mr Michael Tobias from me
