Now see, that's me as well; although in my case they're Fender P's & Jazzes rather than 'Birds. I have 5 Jazzes, 4 P's and a P/J. While I certainly don't need them all, I do LIKE them all. Sure they're very similar, but they do have subtle differences. And they look different. I enjoy grabbing a different one each day to play for awhile. You'd think the Lull (it's a great bass) but, at least to my ear they're all a bit different - pickups, woods, construction the Jackson has a preamp and EMGs. Even the 3 '76 Gibson differ in tone because the pickups were wound inconsistently. So I like them all.
you need a free hug?I have a lot basses, but no two are alike. Which begs the question why am I posting here? Never mind.
Oh! Forgot I have two Gibson Rippers. One a '74 and the other an '82. Both are setup identically. The '74 is my first bass. Had it for 40+ years and it's my goto. It never leaves the house now that I have a second one to take out if I need or want to - which is what I got it for.![]()
