Here's mine:

My 2 Yamaha RBXJM2 purple plum metallic bass guitars with yje same setup, same luthier, same strings, same batteries, same straplocks, same fretfix, same fretwraps, same straps, same settings, same cases (one does have slightly "brighter hardware, that's the only appreciable difference):

I HAVE to have it so I can go from one bass (a main one) to the other (backup) without ever having to make any adjustment or think about anything.

:)

The only duplicates I own are two PBs. One with a Klein 1962 Epic Series pickup that's strung with flats for a traditional sound. The second with an Aguilar AG-4P-60 pickup and rounds to give me a more modern sound while still showing respect for the traditional PB tone. (For a brighter or more "modern" sound than that I have a some other non-PBs to work with.)

Between the two I can get the full gamut of tones you can get from a PB.

These two Elans are very nearly alike built just a few months apart. The only real difference is the top wood and the bass/treble boost/cut switches on the maple top. The maple top is truly a spare. It gets out quite a bit, but I don't actually play it often; if something happens, I want a bass that feels and acts exactly like my primary stage instrument within reach. The walnut top goes to every gig, every time, no matter where that might be. The finish on the maple top is without flaws while the finish on the walnut top is almost completely worn away on the back and on the lower bout where my arm rests; there are also a number of battle scares from careless stage hands and drummers. (A couple from a past vocalist's angry girlfriend(s) as well, but that's a long story.) We'll call the walnut top my 25-year relic project while the maple top is my time capsule.
