Music Man Caprice: True Boutique Quality

Caprice killing it in the mix. Anyone know if there are any replacement pickguards available for Caprice Basses? Would like to either pick up one of the standards for a white/maple (black or tort) or a unique color.

I have a mint pg that I got from Edgetone. I used it to get a template made from QUICKGUARDS.
That black pearl he has would look great on your bass.
PM me if interested in the mint.

Just played my first gig with the Caprice and it killed. Felt great all night with incredible definition and "punch". Going to put a couple of Basses I know I won't be playing much longer up for sale and purchase a maple fingerboard Caprice as well. The neck, as others have commented, feels very similar to the Lull M4V I used to have. The added humbucker in the bridge really when emphasized and using the neck pickup to add weight to the tone really rips through. So great! Here's an example where I thought the bass really shined- (Keeley Bassist > Darkglass B7KU > Jule Monique)

Sounds great. The Caprice is very comfortable to play for extended periods as well. Just an all around great bass design.

:woot: BLUETIFUL!! drool What's the story on that finish and pickguard? Did you have it refinished or was it a special in house MusicMan color?
You should join us in the MusicMan Caprice / Cutlass Club.
Professionally refinished over the burst. It's numerous layers of fender lake placid and turned out darker than expected but looks great. The pickguard was custom made as well.
(I saw the select dealer bass with start night finish and thought the asking price was rediculius. So I decided to make it exactly what I wanted within a reasonable price)

I added a double drop tuner peg. This piece just seems like the right bass at the right time for me.

I will be sure to join the club. I'll take a better shot of it later. Thank you.

Does anybody own or have seen a natural finish caprice at a store?

I came across this Caprice on clearance at GC. Would you buy it at this price with this damage?

Thanks lowdownthump I needed that! I've been eyeing this one for a couple of weeks now!
I think if you go in with cash and offer $1000 they'll take it. That chip is only cosmetic, and something you'd be likely to do yourself a day after buying it brand new. OK. Maybe not. That's something I'd be likely to do the day after buying it myself :).

I'll add that I've never seen a used Caprice for under $1100. Not saying it can't or hasn't happened. I've just never seen it.

I saw one about a week ago on Craigslist LA for $1200. It sold fast! That's the lowest I've seen.
