I should probably get a back up set of stings for my new Stingray 5. What's your favorite round wound?

+1 EB Super Slinky's or Cobalts (on my SR5)

Sorry, man, that is incorrect. I worked in the wine industry. The main thing about smelling the cork is to smell for mold/mildew. If the wine was stored upright (the cork not touched by wine), it can sour the wine. (Hence the term "corked" for wine gone bad) . Smelling the cork is the first step in judging the quality of the bottle that's been brought to you.

Sorry, but not really. The cork is a pretty poor conveyance of a corked wine. The wine, however is.

I'm experimenting with Chromes at the moment on my SR5, though prior my go-to rounds were always Regular Slinkeys.

I've tested D'Addario Chromes, Fender Flats and TI Jazz Flats on my SR5 and SR5 classics but I didn't like the E string and low B string with flats. But the same strings work fine on my SR4, Sterling 4 and SR4 fretless. I don't have a clue why, different neck geometry perhaps ? Who knows. After that I decided to use flats for my 4 stringers only.

That finish looks SO good with a maple neck. The only nit I can find to pick about my bass is that it's rosewood rather than maple. However, everything else about it is just perfect (to me at least) so there's no way I'd ever risk trading it for a maple necked version that might not be as perfect in every other way that the one I already have is.

its always a tough call for me, rosewood can have a lot more grain character to it, which I like (these thing are made from wood, lets show it off).

But honeyburst looks awesome with everything.

A '94 SR4 with maple neck was my one that got away.

On another note I saw P.OD. The other night - they were great, but the real star of the show was being played by one of the other bassists.

Stealth ray 4.

Slung fairly low, played with a pick.

It was so awesome.
