Music Man SUB USA

I wouldn’t go that high. Maybe $800 tops. But that’s just me.
Prices on the old SUB’s are climbing. For $1,000, you would be getting a legitimate USA Music Man bass, that is nothing to sneeze at.
So are you saying that the SUB isn't worth it, or that the SUB would be a legitimate USA Music Man bass?
I say the choice is yours, but remember the old SUB’s are real Music Man basses with real Music Man components, and made by the same folks making Stingray Specials now.
I bought mine for around 550 ish bucks 5 years ago. It’s a passive model And in players condition. I wouldn’t pay a premium for “condition”.
I bought mine this past December. I paid $595 for it and it has one minor ding. Frets are perfect, it set up nicely, plays and sounds great. Love it and it's now my clear #1 but I would've been hard pressed to go to 1K. $700-$800, depending on condition, would be my ceiling.
The question is... how much do used EBMM StingRays cost now?
At Guitar Center used the Musicman basses run from $1149 for a USA SUB to Stingrays and such at $1499, $1599, $1650, $1750, $1799, $1899, $1950, $2200, $2350, $2399, $2499, $2799
So, I think a $800, $900, $1000 used USA SUB is not crazy this year.

great buy, if one can find it! one could flip it at g.c. and more than double their investment.
I bought one for $450, traded it back to the same store for $600 to help buy my Super 5 and he sold it for $800.
I paid 500 for my USA sub but that was many years ago. But no I Def wouldnt pay 1000
Prices on EBMMs and SBMMs (new) are climbing, alarmingly !
They're great basses and true Stingrays (pickup, preamp etc, same as the USA version)... but $1000 is quite inflated. I know they're going up but I wouldn't pay more than $5-600 for a nice one. For $1000 you're getting in USA Stingray territory (used, of course).
For comparison, I had two SUBs (2003, pickup in series; 2005, pickup in parallel) and a 2002 Stingray all at the same time. Soundwise, obviously the series one was a bit different but they were all 'the real deal'. But both SUBs were quite a lot heavier than my Stingray. Eventually I sold them to fund other purchases, but they were easily as good as the Stingray.
I didn't pay anywhere close to $1000, 'though.
The US SUBs are certainly excellent, but I'd much rather have the black '96 Sterling in the classifieds, for that kind of money.
