Music: What do you see?

Most of the time, I just get this "light" feeling and the groove makes everything alright. Kind of like the best kind of buzz that you get after a nice drink.

Some days, and during some kinds of music, I will actually have everything fade out until all I can hear is the music. And then, the images and visuals will start.....

Some times, I feel like the world has changed into colors and shapes and they morph with what I'm feeling, and sometimes, I get this sort of energy flowing through me that causes me to visualize a story with the music acting as scenes from a film.

For some music, like if I'm listening to Debussy, I might get beautiful landscapes, or rivers of the clearest kind.

Afterwards, I always get this clear sense of being and I become very acute. Everything becomes very clear and defined.

Wow, no other people w. synesthesia here? It's usually pretty common w. musicians...

I "see" colors, which are affected by timbre/instrumentation (it's usually affected by tones).

P.S. How do you all play while on acid!? I find it impossible... there's just too much going on!

I'm synesthetic too... it's weird the way harmonic stuff produces one set of perceptions, that overlaps with tones....e.g. the same riff played on a B-3 and an 80's digital synth produce very different mental signatures.

You guys are all weirdos... I see nothing, metaphorically or otherwise. I hear the music.

Like really. My mind goes comepletely blank, and I just get carried away on the sound.

Seeing goes with hearing, for me it's hearing it all the time and seeing colors with it sometimes.

Code:
Intro on Peter Gabriel plays live;

[I]"What's next after that
the answer is very simple
it has to do with groups of people
who make themselves into smaller groups of people
in order to feel strong by excluding others
this is for those people on the outside
and it's called 'not one of us'"[/I]

Completely agree with the bloke saying you get to a point where the music plays you. Just playing live a few times and your mind is lost in the song, and your fingers are left entirely to rhythm and your subconscious. Plus a seriously mellow, happy high sensation. Right until you mis-fret and then spend the next bar or so fumbling around trying to get back.

Unfortunately at the "mystical Jedi high" point I look gormless as hell and have a serious case of the DERP-bass-face.

One of my sons has a type of synesthesia. He gets the impression of colors with sound. He once told me my voice looks brown with gold edges. "So, you're telling me I sound like poo?" I asked. "Shiny poo." says he.
