IIRC you can set polls to see who voted which way, which may be a solution as you can just count the votes of the donators. Honestly though, I think this is being overcooked. Thor - you should just make a decision to split the funds between two charities and be done with this. No one will begrudge someone for making the decision after all this time.

I guess I am the one who wants to drive the resolution home,
I can understand Tom doesn't want to pick it. I'd rather
have input, though. fo shizzle makes a good point. There are plenty of needs out there, so getting this finally done will be good for all of us.

Well, my vote is going to go for Mhopus and St. Jude's.

The kids get something and the kids get something.

If we can have a second on that and a few ayes, we'll
give it to Tom Bowlus and be done with it.

It can take months for everyone to list their charity suggestions which is so counter productive to ending this mess. Take all of the charities listed up to now and write the names down on small pieces of paper, put them in a hat and pick one.

There is no wrong choice here!!!

I donated money for MikeBass and for the charity and I'd do it again if one of our brothers or sisters was in trouble. Yes, it's sad how this ultimately turned out (not where Mike Fredericks is concerned) but there is a silver lining. It's not much money, but one of these charities will be happy to receive it.

Please just make a choice. The money is not making a difference where it is now.

It would be great to know where the money ends up. And I am not asking for proof, I'd just like to know which charity will benefit.

Not to derail this thing, but if you're looking for somewhere to donate, I have a suggestion. These charities are great, don't get me wrong, but if you don't know a child directly affected by it, I'd like to humbly present my niece. Her name is Sydney Clark. She has been diagnosed with NF1. This is a horrible disease. If you would want to donate to a kid that we kind of have a connection to, this would be a good one. She's a sweet little girl, and I'd hate to see anything happen to her. Right now she has just been diagnosed, and it could all turn out all right, where she might have a few set backs and tumors removed as she grows up. Or it could possibly kill her with a tumor on a vital organ, like the brain, when she hits puberty.

I well understand the rules of charity and such here at TB, but this thread is kind of heading that direction. If I offended anyone, please disregard this post. This is my sister's kid and I feel like if I take a ding for anything, I might as well take it for a kid I care about.

My sympathies; but...
Wasn't this originally intended for "a kid we kind of have a connection to;" a child of a tb member?

I understand the sentiment in the last line, but that was a bit harsh (imho)! :p

Oh. Man, I see what you mean. I just meant that if I was going to get in trouble for pushing a charity. That's all. I didn't mean to imply that I didn't care about the original girl we were talking about in this thread. Man, that's totally not what I meant. :eek:

Yeah, I'm aware of the original intentions, but it seems like everything has gotten kind of lost in the mix. I didn't mean for my post to be harsh. I just meant that if we're talking charities, how about this one, because it's something I'm dealing with right now. That's all. I'm perfectly happy with the idea of this debacle ending up going to a charity. It's turning something positive that soured into something positive again. I just thought I'd throw something that affects me into the mix. It was a little self-serving, I admit it, but I meant nothing by it. Just trying to help my sis and her daughter out, that's all. Money in the name of any charity for the kids is all win as far as I'm concerned. :)

I didn't read anything negative in your post and I got what you were saying right away. I'm sorry your niece is going through this right now. I can't imagine how hard it is for families with a sick child. My heart breaks for families in this situation.
