Well, I may be back out again. I love the Sabre, but I'm feeling like I just jive with a Precision more. I love what I can do with this, but I keep wishing it was something that it's not, at least not quite. So I have an LB-100 on the way and I'll put it up against the Sabre. If the Sabre wins, the LB-100 will go back. If not, it will be up for sale. If anyone is interested, let me know. I'm thinking $1350. And again, this is an all rosewood neck Sabre. Fairly rare, even with the fact that the all rosewood necks were Ltd. with Musicman to begin with.

I'd keep both, but I can't afford to unfortunately, even in the future. Priorities.

Hey got a question for you guys. I had my Sabre up for sale and decided to delete the listing because Ive been playing it alot and kinda fell back in love with it, even though Ive got four Musican basses. Anyway, my question is this: I almost NEVER play the front pickup on ANY bass soloed, so as you can imagine almost all of my playing time has been on the back three positions. (Pos 1: rear pickup, Pos 2: Rear and single coil from front, Pos 3: both full pickups) Ive rarely thrown it on the single coil only or full front pickup setting. Lately Ive been playing around and was trying out all five settings and realized that I hear almost no discernible difference between position 4 and 5 (front single coil and front humbucker). I realize that they are both different version of the front pickup so the sound should be fundamentally the same, but shouldnt it be rather distinct between a single coil and a humbucker? It actually made me think for a while that either the single coil or the humbucker wasnt working correctly, but then I realized that if that was the case then there would be no difference between Position 2 and 3 ( Rear pup and single coil front, and rear and front pups full on). Those sound distinctly different. Do you guys have a similar sonic experience?

I'm very similar, only with the treble slightly lower. I find I can get an almost Jazz-like back pick-up bark with those settings/strings.
