Incorrect. Uniqueness is binary. Despite common misuse there are no degrees of uniqueness.

Of course, neither "fairly unique" nor "quite unique" is an oxymoron.

I disagree.

“particularly remarkable, special, or unusual” is an accepted secondary definition of unique and does not have a binary requirement. In fact, saying “fairly unique” is a good way to indicate that the intent is to use this definition. The value of using the unique this way is that it has a more neutral connotation than unusual, remarkable, or special.
