My first show ever was tonight

My band played tonight live on a local radio station. 5 songs, ~30 min set. Both guys in my band have a little bit of experience playing live (not much) but before tonight I had none.

It was awesome. We messed up the intro to the first song pretty badly, but the rest of the show went smoothly and awesome. We have some improvisation in our songs, and we did that live on the radio. It was a pretty great experience.

So excited I got my first show under my belt. I've been playing for about 9 years and I've never played in a band that I felt good enough to play live with. Hopefully some people listened!

I also recorded the live stream on my computer... so I can burn this and have it for the rest of my life. Pretty awesome. Now I know why people love playing live so much... I can only imagine what it's like in front of a crowd instead of on the radio.

Congrats dude! Always a cool experience. If you liked that wait until you get up in front of 300(most I've had the pleasure of playing in front of) people going nuts. Not sure what genre music you play, but as a metal act bassist its always a blast seeing a pit start up and limbs flying. Of yeah and boobies!

First Song: Nice intro, shaky vocals though and I'm sorta on the fence about some of those transitions from melody to melody. The first was a bit too abrupt for my taste and I don't believe personally that it fit in as well as it could have with a more gradual segway. Overall a decent song, IMO, but some of those transitions just did not fit in.

Second Song: Yes, you screwed up the intro. Yes I get that and had you nailed it it would have sounded better. I did like the sort of techno feel of it and the vibratos in the background, your bass playing was solid and I really liked the bass fills. IMO it was sort of a cross between a Rush instrumental and a Metallica instrumental, much like Call of Ktulu. Overall I really like the song and wish you had nailed that intro to really top it off. I'm gonna go listen to it again in fact.

I'm not a professional, those are just my opinions. I don't want to hurt anyone, just trying to give constructive feedback.

We played awesome tonight! It's totally different playing to an audience... everyone was drinking and dancing to our songs and having a great time!

I'm having a blast playing these shows!

Everyone was digging my bass playing too... people even came up to me after the show and wanted to shake my hand and stuff. It feels so great to know that people dig your music.

Supercool! There is nothing like playing to a live audience. There are times when you're playing well and nobody notices. That sucks. And there are times when you're playing lousy and the crowd loves it. That sucks too. But then.....there will be those nights when you play your ass off and dozens of people are just groovin' and getting into it on the dance floor. Those nights are the reason I still play. Well, that and the obscene piles of cash and bubbly groupies throwing themselves nekkid at my feet.
