I'd tell her the minute she could outperform me on any instrument, I might pay attention to her opinion on playing one.
I wouldn't tolerate something that rude, especially in public like that. Dump that ho.
my girlfriend yells out,
"its too bad he doesnt have enough brain capacity to play guitar!"
A deliberate negative comment made in public about something I am? We'd be split before she could finish her next sentence- she wouldn't even get a ride home. If she'd said it in jest, the OP would have gotten that message and not started this thread. But a good woman (a woman worth loving) doesn't mock her man's craft anyhow, in any way.
I freely admit that part of it's just me- I don't even know what it's like to be so whipped that I have to ask an internet forum for advice when I can simply cancel the future with one woman and find a replacement within hours.
I think what she did is completly unacceptable .If she disrespects you in front of others ,i would have great concerns . That simply would not happen in my world. Most of the comments here seem to be in jest. But if i had an OL that did that it wouldnt happen twice.
ok guys, in all seriousness.
her comment did in fact bother me.
i knew she was joking, but it still wasnt very respectful.
but some of the responses here were not what i was expecting.
they were worse than her original comment.
im not going to dump her, or bruise her up, its not worth it.
ill play bass like i always have and show her that im not a "failed guitarist",
or "lacking brain capacity".
i can prove my point by showing her what i can do behind a bass,
not by dumping her or smacking her.
i expected some better posts from you TB.
