My Kid Just Made This

Holy crap. I was stoked when my 15 year old daughter made this 3D card for fathers day. Your kid makes a real guitar. Awesome!

Yeah, exactly. Best birthday present ever. That boy is something else.

The guitar's not for me. Colin already plays pretty well but he's actually a drummer. He has done a substantial amount of teenager-on-bed-with-guitar-on-lap already. I honestly can't wait to try the guitar when it's done. I'll probably spring for a plekking at Sweetwater for it. You know, dad stuff.

Thanks for everyone saying such nice things about his work. I still can't tell you how surprised I was.

Now to get him cooking with his year-older brother: Good with synths, recording, computers and a breadboard.

Wow, that is nice! My father gifted me our Yugo (yes, but I live in origin country of that "car" so it is still common) as 18th Bday present few months ago and my cousin and I are working on it, we put some nice speakers, bumpers and stuff. Next plan is engine upgrade. Young people definitely need to work on some projects to improve their skills and spend free time the right way.

My father gifted me our Yugo...

Were your teenage years hard on your father?

Very nice of him, though... my buddy had one, here in the states, back in the '80s... I used to joke with him, "If you own a Yugo, and you go nowhere... fast!" Neither of us were mechanically inclined, back then... I learned a bit, but he just bought newer cars...

If they are still around, something changed for the better, I hope.

Haha, well Yugos were in production till 2008. and our is made in 1998. Slightly different dashboard and nothing else. Yugoslavia spec models had stronger engines than US ones. Several classmates also have Yugo. It became "the car".

It was my birthday last night. Youngest of my sons is Colin who's 16 sent me this in a Happy Birthday email.

He'd made a Telecaster before which turned out fair (an extraordinarily flamey neck) but my mind was truly blown when I saw this. What do you guys think?

I’d say he’s very talented because he’s not even half my age and that looks better than anything I could do.
