Holy crap! The art of guitar building is alive in your son. Craftsmanship at the artisan-level is really very rare. You're a very lucky dad. Needless to say, that one's a keeper!

That is truly amazing for a boy that age. You've done well, DAD! My son is building me a pedal for Xmas (a ring modulator), and I'm in awe.

Wow! What a beautiful job he did. That is an awesome looking guitar. He definitely has incredible talent and could easily work as a luthier, maybe even make custom guitars for a living. I would love to hear how it plays and sounds.
I'm going up there Wednesday with a super-duper gift for the both of them. I will certainly be asking about if there are more to follow.
There's a long line of woodworking ability through the family but I wouldn't have to stones to try a capped-body, set-neck guitar like a LP. You'd have to go back to my grandfather Denver for that level. I might be leaving Indiana soon to go back out west. You have to know he gets all my woodworking crap. I can buy more.
He plays bass at school as well. He bought a Squier 5-string (it's decent but you know...) after trading off a short-scale Guild. Hey, I'm as impressed with him bringing home a short-scale then the 5 to try as anything. I personally have to genuinely work hard to be adequately open-minded about such things.
Between the two of them, I've got to keep pedal to the metal of this music dad thing. They're already tough to keep up with. At least it's not trying to keep up with them on a basketball court or such.
Everyone can be assured of an update on the axe itself when it's complete and I can spend a little time with it.
