Don't stay away too long.

I have "cyber" friends, and "brick and mortar" friends. I think the big reason I like my cyber friends is that most of them have been met in my surfing for things I like. I have very, very few people in the physical world that I can talk to about bass. Even my musician friends don't care. So, I liken this place to a big club that I belong to.

I gotta laugh cuz I was thinking the same exact stuff today while I was arguing here about letting the cops search my car. Such pointless nonesense and wasting of time.

Lots and lots of stuff has taken place in my life since then. Awesome stuff. Dang. This thread makes me grateful. I accomplished a whole lot more than I set out to, and didn't have to leave here anyhow. Maybe talkbass ain't soo bad after all.

Leaving talkbass has become a cliche, but I feel proud that I'm one of the ones who started that cliche. A starter of quitters so to speak. And proudly unsuccesful!

It's kind of odd. When I was young and first starting to play, it was a big deal to me to find someone else who played with whom I could talk music, bass, and guitar things about. Nowadays, I don't get that. In the "real world," I'd much rather not talk about music and would rather talk about something else that interests me, whether it's good wine or philosophy. I usually don't bother telling people I'm a musician unless it comes up in conversation regarding a story I'm telling. :hmm:
