Just checked out the videos. Sounds beautiful! It's really an entirely different instrument than an ol' 4 string. You have to view the 9 string totally different. At least that is how I look at it. I'm glad it's everything you were hoping for!

Thanks D Bopp! I agree with your view on ERBs. Very different animals all together. Even before I ever had an extended range bass, I would grab my classical guitar and tune it in standard 4ths bass tuning. I really liked the extended range (for me in the higher) range that i was getting out of the classical guitar. I had it tuned from E.

Absolutely, nothing wrong with the "ol' 4 banger", theres plenty of fun to be had with them. :bassist:

I certainly didn't want my last post to sound like a slam to anyone who uses a two-pickup bass...My fretless has 2 & I also have a Fender 5 string P bass. If anything, I want to let more people know about this triple JSBC setup. It has really expanded what I can achieve. Reinhard builds some of the best sounding pickups out there. Fred's basses are right up there too. Those two guys are responsible for putting my little idea into motion & actually making it work. Without their genius, it would still just be an idea. Big Cheeto; I can't get over how great your bass looks. Congrats, again!

Actually,he only used the back pup.... Most of the time(?). Which,I figure you already knew!

Also,if a bass with 6 strings (or more) is a high-quality/well-built bass,they are V-E-R-Y comfortable to play,believe it or not.
My Smith (Melvin Davis Model) was no more difficult to play (surprisingly),than any 5 or 6 stringer that I've owned.
Look,I can prove it. That is if I can get the OP to send it to me,in order to prove it to you!!

I agree, my new 9 stringer plays like a dream. Perfect string spacing, feel and tone. My 9 stringer is 34 scale. The B on this thing is SUPER tight and punchy!!

Ahhh!!!! You agree with my post,huh???? Remember now,my post stated that in order to prove that a "many-stringed,w-i-d-e" neck is ergonomic/comfy. So,you'll have to send it to me to prove to the other TB'rs!!!
