Drywall mud and tape in progress! My drywall contractor said he’ll have everything taped by the end of the day. From there it’s just a matter of floating and sanding as needed until it’s ready for me to put on the base coat of primer ahead of the texturing.

Just got off the phone with Overly Doors. They put me in touch with their west coast distributor who is, unfortunately, out of town until next week. I’ll badger him when he’s back. The folks at Overly confirmed that since I’m using an engineered hardwood floor I won’t need to install a door threshold. Thresholds are needed for sound doors where carpet or vinyl is used for flooring, but hardwood and laminate products provide an adequate backing for the bottom seals to have identical performance to a threshold-equipped door, but without the functional problems of putting a trip hazard in the middle of your gear load-in/out path.
As I recall, the breaker box is located in the vestibule on the building’s wall, so it is not necessary to apply acoustical putty around it or have a seal on the front panel.

Correct. It’s outside of the sound isolation perimeter.
It’s not dry enough to smell musty just yet. More of the eye stingingly acrid variety at present.
Probably not advisable to toot in there until the HVAC is up and running...
Gypsum which makes up a good portion of the joint compound. It is soluble, and the sulfate ion can be corrosive. Why risk shortening the life of heat transfer fins? I suspect his heat pump unit will act as a dehumidifier.
There’s no HVAC installed yet, so there’s nothing to risk. No HVAC will be installed until drywall mud, tape, primer, texture, primer and wall paint is done.
The heat pump, or more accurately the mini split system, will indeed act as a dehumidifier as do all mini splits.
post #2054, gave a reason not run the hvac. I was just giving a specific reason not to even consider starting it up.
Right... but considering it’s still in a box in my storage shed, not mounted to the wall, not connected to the condenser unit, not connected to power... well... suffice it to say that the risk is non-existent
Mud and tape day 3. All the coats of mud are on. It’s going to sit over the weekend with the door cracked and a little space heater humming away to get it fully dried for sanding on Monday. I’m going to have to put on the primer in a hurry Tuesday night as I’m on the road come Wednesday, and my contractor wants to spray texture Wednesday and then do final touch-ups on Thursday. Next week will be a mad dash, but it’s getting close!
