Guys have done this to me before. I just laughed and said "bro, I already am selling this to you at $X off.Cmon now". And then they laugh and say "yeah I had to ask" and then show up and pay me the asking price. I keep it light, it's not worth getting heated about.

The only thing I will do if a guy shows up and is "short on the total", is walk on him. I hate that style of negotiation and find it lame. But that rarely ever happens.

I wasn't assuming it was directed at me, I was just commenting as to the nature of your post. Also, the number of posts has to do with the amount of conversation that you've skipped before asking things that were already mentioned.
I read the entire thread. and I didn't ask any questions. it was a statement. follow along

And here is how it played out in an alternate universe:

On the drive up the guy texted me this:

Buyer: "Would you consider $550? Haha thinking about turning around this traffic is horrible."

Me: Sorry, I think it is worth $650. I agreed to honor the mistaken $600 price. Can't go any lower. Up to you what you want to do.

Buyer: Figured you'd say that, just checking. See you in 45 mins.

Me: Cool. Drive safe.

<60 minutes later>

Buyer: Damn, dude, this bass is awesome, thank you so much! Keep my number and let me know if you ever have anything else you want to sell.

Me: Sure thing buddy, will do. Thanks and enjoy it!

Buyer: Oh, by the way, my little sister is a supermodel, and her lame boyfriend just broke up with her. You seem like a really nice guy, and you look like her type. Are you single?

I understand. After he was told he would no longer be sold an item at the agreed upon price. I’d be pissed too. Show one person on TB that wouldn’t be.

May have to take the other side here, brother Bob.

Buyer was told he'd no longer be sold the item after trying a sleazeball tactic - namely agreeing to a price then re-opening negotiations. That tactic instantly negates the previous deal. After all, isn't the buyer re-opening negotiations? The previous deal is null and void.

If we're limiting ourselves to 'Should the OP have responded to profanity with profanity', then sure, okay. The high road is best.

Should the OP have the right to send this moron a message? Absolutely. This is just one step above asking for a takeback in online chess when you meant to make the move but realize seconds later that it was a mistake.

Uh ok.

It’s not uncommon for buyers to try and get get things for cheaper. Telling him no was perfectly fine. But the telling him to turn around and go **** himself? Seems to me that you were the *** in this exchange, not him.

Sure hope that never happen to you when you go to buy something.

disagree with you 100%.

I have never understood why so many people wanted to catch flies that it spawned a phrase on the best way to do it. It's probably just more propaganda from big honey.

Catching them also implied doing them in, a desirable thing. Besides being annoying, in the past flies were regarded as a health hazard, especially on the farm. They literally eat feces, and are also attracted to food, people, etc. They carry what we once called germs.

Says the guy who’s username is “tradernick”. It wasn’t any great mystery which side you’d be on from the get, my friend ;).

Totally agree, I could have handled it better, and I have learned from this thread. I'm still not sorry though.

I have no idea what this means, but I'm not that bright so this isn't entirely unexpected.

Have a good rest of your night anyway.

I have no idea what I’m talking about either. I’m just trying to get this thing to 30 pages. I suppose my logic is somewhat flawed with regards to that last post. For all I know, you could be a trader of socks. In any case, that should not be a determining factor in my assessment of you, and for that, I apologize.
