My personal very custom pedalboard build....here we go.

Looks great with everything in there, snug but open. Nice job wiring job putting actual wall mounts for the power supply, I just zip tied a power strip on mine :P So, how about the bottom of the board? Are you gonna put some custom feet or foam on there to protect the wood?

Thanks bro, it was designed in width for the actual pedals, I was going to use. I have it designed a certain way to be able to increase the width and depth for more pedals.
The pedalboard is not quite finished, yet. I do have some small feet to put on and am also going to put a thin flat panel of removable plexi-glass on the bottom. That will hold in, any cables. I also have a custom cut logo, being made, to be inlaid on the front on the pedalboard.

I've enjoyed your fine work on these boards and reading about each progression and the rationale behind each one.

Question: Did you use hardwoods instead of plywood for appearance only or did the hardwood weigh less than plywood of equal width?

I used real wood on the last because of the type and availibility. My original plans was to go with 1/2" plywood and veneer it with tamo ash(outside) and wenge(inside). Maybe an upgrade in the future.

I do need to also add that the swamp ash was much lighter weight than the 1/2 plywood.

I'm getting ready to build my own custom board. I'm going to cover it with the cabinet fabric that most cabinets are covered in, so I don't care about the look of the wood. I am most interested in function.

If I used Swamp ash to build the board, would it be strong enough for the outer box or just the inner parts? I"m assuming if I were to use Swamp Ash for the outer parts of the box, I would need to join the pieces together. Would those joints withstand normal wear or do you think they would eventually crack at those joins?

Just letting everyone know that I will post some new pictures here in the thread. I am designing a much smaller unit that will be a different species of wood and be much smaller only for 4 pedals.
I plan on working on it this weekend......most likely will be built out of Burled Redwood, Spalted Burled MyrtleWood or Burled Ambrosia. :hyper:

I'm assuming that the open area on the bottom is for the electrical stuff (power supply, power cables and outlets, etc...). But I don't understand why you would leave that open for the wires to fall out? What are you going to do to prevent that?

Good question, this unit is just an original layout to work out the details on my custom unit. The gap is for the wires and plugs, but I don't like the size, so I'll downsize it later....I'll work it out, recut it and post the updates.
