Not really, I just despise emo with all of my being. Don't worry, this trend will be gone in a while, and you won't have to worry about it anymore.

They wear totally different belts, even though they are both purchased at hot topic.
Anyway, I couldn't care less about trends. I never understood the "I wanna be part of the clique" mindset.
'goths' in england are totally different from 'goths' over there i suspect 
anyway, 'goth' is far too big a generalisation.
i mean, if someone told me they were 'goth' i would go through this thought process-
1. they cannot be goth, for no goth would seriously call themselves a goth.
2. maybe they are being ironic, as is common in this wonderful subculture of ours.
3. if they are indeed goth, are they the cool glamour/sleaze goth? or the fat ugly victorian type.
4. is my makeup smudged?
5. i wonder where Joslin is.
meh, no 'goths' i know even call themselves goth anymore. they make up inventive genres such as Sleazy Space Queen and 80s Pillbox Coke Line Dillema

Goths are pretty much the same all around, different brands of goth too. From Robert Smith to Robert Zombie.

What I have gotten out of this thread is the fact that dweebs now have their own genre.

Emo, goth, gutter punk, glam kid, metal head, mod kid, hippie, greaser, swing kid... Young people have always had a need to categorize themselves in some way to feel that they "fit in". They are always alienated from the world, their parents, reality, etc. This is nothing new, and it will happen again, again, and again.
Categorizing oneself into a particular type of person is just plain lame.
I will have to say that of all the categories of types of people I've listed, emo is the only one that is associated with such terrible music. Even the best practitioners of emo, like Sunny Day Real Estate, are barely listenable. That stuff drives me up the walls.
Of course, as a gutter punk/goth/metalhead, I would say something like that.
