Monday night we had an awesome backline company...here's my supplied rig:
Actually I was my own backline company and I supplied it, but I just wanted an excuse to post the pic. Busted out the Realistic violin bass for the first time since Christmas to get some fat vintage thump on some of the tunes we did, and it ruled, and I've yet to play any newer hollowbody that even compares. Pulled the VT Bass Deluxe out a week or two ago after a year and a half of inactivity, and though I still wish it was a little less compressed, it really does make switching basses less complicated and has some very cool dirt tones, so it's back in the lineup regularly. Real fun 60's show tonight with Ron Dante who sang all The Archies songs in the 60's like "Sugar Sugar", wrote a ton of commercial jingles in the late 60's-early 70's with Barry Manilow that everyone my age and older remembers, and produced Barry Manilow's biggest hits, along with Lenny Welch, Barbara Lewis, John Claude Gummoe of The Cascades, and Johnny Thunder. Long day with a full rehearsal and two 110 minute shows. We had to do background vocals for everyone and there was a lot of reading in this show...yes, actual notes on staffs, not just chords
And these kids on here wonder why I tell them to read. Can't do a show like this without singing and reading. OK, so it's not quite the same as gigs where the singers are screaming like wounded dogs and the audience forms a mosh pit. But on the bright side, nobody's screaming like wounded dogs and forming a mosh pit.

and a Korg Pitchblack. The pedals come and go in phases. Thinking of adding my Team Awesome Fuzz machine back. The VTD gets a pretty heavy overdrive going but it isn't the same as fuzz.
